Think of this as our way of reflecting. Fitbit researchers got the numbers and counted the steps of millions of Fitbit users around the world. Here are the stats we noticed the most:

Who increased it in 2019?

This year Fitbit users took the lead in Hong Kong, followed by Spain and Ireland in second and third place. The top five places with the most steps in 2019 were rounded off by Italy and Singapore. Talk about reaching your step goals!

Who has the best recovery in 2019?

Fitbit users in Finland have thought about turning off the lights, unplugging, and pressing the pillow for a second time in a row than in any other country. Other top snoozers that joined the ranks were in Ireland, New Zealand, Belgium and the Netherlands.

U.S. cities with the healthiest hearts in 2019

In the United States, the average adult resting heart rate is 60 to 100 beats per minute, but lower heart rates can be a measure of good cardiovascular fitness. Fitbit users in Bend, Oregon, are the returning heart health champions in 2019 with the lowest resting heart rate in the U.S. Other cities topping the list were Juneau, Alaska; Missoula, Montana; Santa Barbara; Santa Maria; San Luis Obispo; Monterey; and Salinas, all in California.

The U.S. Fitbit community raised the bar in 2019

The power of the steps is undoubtedly alive – after all, Fitbit users from the USA recorded a total of 27 trillion (!) in the past year. More sublime statistics? The US Fitbit community slept a total of 12 billion hours and shifted into gear with a total of 119 billion active minutes. Let's say the recommended 150 minutes of moderate workouts a week was a breeze.

The best days of 2019 in the U.S.

In the United States, the best day for steps took place in this glorious period between spring and summer, just before Memorial Day weekend. Fitbit users in the US logged no less than 91.6 billion steps that day.

Best night of the blissful ZZZ? Fitbit users wasted no time on January 12th to have maximum rest. Next were the days with maximum hydration – and nice bike rides in warm weather – on the dog summer days: the mild, lighthearted dates of August 27th and July 9th. respectively. Here are the highlights of the year!
